*Long trips (10-14 nights) are more cost effective if this is a "once in a lifetime" or infrequent experience in Orlando. Skip paying extra on ParkHopper passes to the parks, and instead purchase the 10 day pass to Disney for just a few dollars more than the 5 day passes! Or hit another big theme park, to include a day at Sea World or Universal! Enjoy time at smaller venues like Legoland, Gatorland or Wild Florida, and play at beaches on either side of the Floridian peninsula to experience both Gulf and Atlantic waters. When airfare is expensive and/or weather or crowds prohibit lengthy days at the parks, a longer stay may be worth your time and money! Our family prefers to travel for these extended trips, as we are travelling from across the country, and we often lose a full day of our trip in travel both to and from home to Orlando.
*Most groups pick 7 nights or more for families celebrating special events or reunions, as less will be disappointing, especially if most of the 7 days are spent at the theme parks, and very little time is spent "hanging out", unscheduled, playing as a family at the villa. Those times are the most memorable for our family reunions (see the list of fun things to do at the villa in our "Frequently Asked Questions" section.). Saturday to Saturday stays will often get the best pricing for flights and rental cars, too.
*Last minute, discounted gap stays of 2-4 nights are a great option for local Floridians or annual theme park pass-holders who might enjoy several trips to Orlando throughout the year! Ask us for a price break if you see available dates less than 30 days away, that are shorter gaps!
*No one ever regrets extending their trip! We've never had a guest report that they wished they had planned a shorter trip....But many guests report that the kids are crying for sadness to leave, and even the adults are feeling down about checking out of our homes before they felt fully rejuvenated. A longer trip is better in this town that is so full of family fun!
